I'm happy you didn't notice right away! It was because of the birth of my son, who had to be pulled out of me with a metal suction pump. After the delivery, they had to put in a lot of stitches, and the doctor who did it told me, "That must have been Doctor So-and-So, he always makes a mess of things." It was a doctor who walked around in a bow tie. The pump came loose briefly and had to be reattached.
