what makes a friend? what makes you a friend? true friendship, does it really exist? if it does, how do you know if you have it. i suppose it could be like true love, how does one really know if they have true or found true love. some people say that you only really know that you have it once you have lost it, but then how could you have it. some say you just know. how exactly does one just know that they have found true love. does it just slap you in the face, does the "light bulb" on top of your head suddenly switch on. is it one of those things that when it happens you just feel it in your heart. what if your heart has been broken so many times that it lies in pieces. unable to connect the feelings together. so they lie scattered all over. you start wondering if its ever going to be worth mending it. just to get that feeling again. only for that same feeling to shatter your poor heart again. and again. and again. have hope they say. never stop believing they tell me. it will happen one day. no one deserves it more than you. really. really. that's the best advice you have to give. its not that it doesn't mean anything. it's just been said all to often that it has kind of lost it's meaning. say something new. convince me with something new. inspire me to believe. i want to believe again, but your overly cliched inspirations are becoming, well, kind of uninspiring. trying to help. i understand that. i respect that. but why only when i ask you. never when just because. must the need to be inspired be asked for. the want to be comforted. the ear to listen with. the shoulder to cry on.
