The dangers of fake people

We all know how to be safe. Never show face pics etc. But this one girl yesterday really made me believe she was the girl in all the pictures she'd sent me through the chat room. It made sense because all the pics were of the same girl. Wishing to know her more, I contacted her on instagram... only to find out... that she had never been on OFC. Someone stole her pictures and created an entire personality! It's unfortunate for the instagram account holder, who never intended to be on a sex chat site. Amazingly she was more concerned about me! My feelings at being 'catfished'. Can you believe that.... Serendipity; on one hand we both were cheated, on the other hand my faith in humanity increased after knowing this very real person's genuine care for others. I hope the reality of the situation doesn't crash down on her later.
 
As luck would have it, I found her again on OFC. Same username, posting the same pics, and using the same teasing words as last night..... What good is attention from the entire room if it is directed to your fake personality? Hmm... that's a philosophical thought right there, maybe I should've said those words instead of what else I told her today. I hope she stops hurting others anyway.
 
People are desperate for attention lmao, find a way to verify that they are real if u dont trust em, some easy ways include finding out where they live and looking at em throught their windows while u chat lmao jk man, watch yourself there are nasty people out here on the internet

I don't think that would work, coz anyone else can choose that same username when logging in as a guest. There's no restriction for what name you can choose as a guest. The unfortunate person who decides to use that name the next time will face prejudice unnecessarily. Anyway this entire thread was just me ranting about something in the past that none of us can really change.
 
Fair enough.... I must ask at a point if guests are more trouble then there worth....

Absolutely, it just seems more common with guest, granted I guess that is something liable to change with implication of such policy.

It is more noticeable with guests or it is pointed out more. There are so many members here who are fake, it just isn't pointed out as much.

True, would be nice to clean house a bit, I lack empathy for people like that.
