Where I Belong

Was a passenger on a ship, course unknown, Lost and alone, with no one to hold.
The once queen of the palace, now without a throne,
Dejected and abandoned, left out in the cold.

But your love has found me and made me whole, A quiet truth that steadies where I stand.
Your gentle touch, constantly healing my soul, Your welcoming heart, giving a safe space to land.

Your love surrounds me, steady as the tide;
It lifts me up when I am feeling low.
In every breath, I feel you by my side, A quiet strength that only you can bestow.

So l question—what took so long
For me to find you and finally be Where I Belong.
I want to be a beacon of love,
But I have hate in my heart.
I want to only do good things,
But I feel so guilty.

I allow them to live in my head,
Which means I'll never move on.
It'd be nice to love myself,
Cause I'm so tired of feeling this way.
You see me without looking.
When I shine it seems so great,
But I still bear the burden
Of carrying the hate.

You see me and see light.
But the dark is so black,
And I can submerge myself
So deep, there's no turning back.

But the one who loves me sees me.
She sees the darkness in me,
She sees me as perfect,
And I am cause she sets me free.
