When I was a kid, I was taught certain things that were presented to me as facts:

- Jesus loves the little children: red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his site...
- Love your neighbor
- Don't judge others
- Let the person without sin be the one to cast the first stone

Now as adult, I see all the good christian people acting in ways that are a 180 from all of that.

It took me a loooong time to see value in myself. But when I eventually did, it opened my mind and heart to appreciating the good things in me and sharing them with others.
