I need to know if you can delete a post if you no longer wish it to be up. If so how?

Can’t you just delete your own post
Tried that. Didn't see any thing to use to make it delete. I tried just deleting the text and the header and hitting enter but it wouldn't let med do that. I think even putting a period in and leaving it at that, requires it being left under the subject section where it's posted. I really would like to just get rid of it entirely. Thanks for the idea though, I appreciate it.
The DELETE option is only available (to non-mods) for a few minutes after you've posted, same for the EDIT function.
