Thats true. For a woman its important to have full connect mind heart genitals. For a man its situational. For a man who is new to sex a good female in front and little contact can make him to orgasm though he might not want it, and would be dreaming of a marathon session. Nicely written, I'd just wanna argue the example of your virgin boyfriend to prove mental excitement is enough for orgasm. In your case, he was open to the prospect of having sex, so he wasn't "imagining and thinking about" sex with you. He was actually into the act, and probably had other physical stimulations (kissing, touching, even putting a condom on, you holding his penis which you mentioned) , and because the experience was so novel a sudden surge of pleasure hormones indicated the sexual organs to ejaculate.But your point is correct - Mental stimulation towards orgasm is possible, but the switch to actuate an orgasm is coupled with genital stimulation or any other physical stimulation, however unobtrusive. That's why some sort of simulation is necessary for orgasm.Dreams are a different case - your mind tricks you into believing you're engaging into a sexual act. In your dreams, you're most often dreaming of some stimulus or may even be having sex in its proper sense.
You can get horny simply by thinking, but I doubt you can get an orgasm by sheer power of thought.There has to be a stimulus of touch,could even be rubbing of your thighs against one another, or rubbing of your genitalia against the fabric of your underwear.
