Giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum), the largest trees on earth by volume. Mature sequoia produce bark that can be 1-2 feet thick. These giants can be found only in the western Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Photos are from a trip several years ago to the Sequoia National Forest in California
