Photos of the Natural World

Digging into the archives from this past summer and a trip to Northern California. Giant redwoods (Sequioa sempervirens) along the ‘Avenue of Giants’. Home of the tallest trees in the world.

Giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum), the largest trees on earth by volume. Mature sequoia produce bark that can be 1-2 feet thick. These giants can be found only in the western Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Photos are from a trip several years ago to the Sequoia National Forest in California IMG_1662.jpegIMG_1756.jpegIMG_1758.jpegIMG_1650.jpeg
