View attachment 86125Not the most interesting of photos, but for me one of the most exciting times before a backpacking trip!! Putting all my gear together then paring it down to just the barest of essentials!! Being a minimalist in all aspects of my life this is a big an aspect of backpacking that I love. Carrying only what it is that I need and savoring the freedom of self reliance and the lightness of movement.
Two weeks from tomorrow I’ll be backpacking in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, 8 days in the backcountry of the Porcupine State Forest along Lake Superior!! If my timing is right I should be back with a ton of photos of spectacular fall colors!!
