Sometimes I wonder why people are so obsessed with asking, “When are you getting married?”

As if marriage is the next mandatory milestone in life?

The moment you reach a certain age, everyone suddenly seems to have an opinion about your personal life — relatives, friends, colleagues, and sometimes even people you barely know.

Maybe they genuinely care. Maybe it’s social conditioning. Or maybe they simply believe everyone should follow the same timeline that society has set for them.

But life doesn’t come with a fixed schedule.

Marriage is a deeply personal decision, and it should happen when you genuinely feel ready for it, not simply because people around you think it’s “time.”

There’s nothing wrong with taking your time, figuring yourself out, building the life you want, and choosing your own path.

Your life doesn’t need to follow someone else’s timeline.
