Autumn sun peeking through the treetops. From my walk in the woods just now.
 
If trees could speak…two pics from Antietam National Military Park in Maryland. To this day this is considered the single bloodiest day in American history. Over 21,000 killed and wounded during the Battle of Antietam in 1862 during the Civil War. The American sycamore tree here was present during the fighting for this bridge. Two pics one from just after the battle and the other from 2024 while I was hiking the battlefield. IMG_7191.jpegIMG_7197.jpeg

From what I can gather, just locals getting together to put some.colir and imagination into the area so children would be entertained. They're quite common on woodland walks here, a fairy trail with little doors or buildings dotted along the route so kids will keep going instead of whining and wanting to turn back. My dad has even done one on the land around their home to entertain the smaller grandkids xx
