I’m a lover and explorer of our natural world. I love spending my free time backpacking through wilderness areas and capturing what I observe in photos.

This thread is for others to also share their observations and experiences in nature caught in photos. So please feel free to post and share your own photos of plants, trees, animals, landscapes anything which you may encounter while experiencing nature or even roaming your local city park.

All I ask is these be nature photos that you’ve taken without the use of AI or photoshop. Let us all enjoy the beauty of our world through your photos. So please share, I can’t wait to see what others from all over the world have experienced outdoors!!

IMG_3790.jpegIMG_3835.jpegA couple of photos to kick things off. Taken during a week long backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. View of Lake Tahoe and a really cool Jeffery pine (Pinus Jeffrey). Look how the top broke out and the tree compensated by putting on new vertical growth from a lower scaffold branch!!

Wooohooooo! I LOVE that you created this thread @Tsuga802 Natural beauty is something I crave for!! It is imperfect, but perfect at the same time as shown clearly from your pics. So much beauty!!!

IMG_1611.jpegIMG_1603.jpegIMG_1654.jpegWe had our first real snow earlier in the week. I was able sneak away one afternoon and hike along the creek through a small hemlock grove!! The silence was deafening the solitude was heavenly! I love this time of year.

Rolling countryside in Sarzay - central France. My former car shows that I could not stop myself from getting out, admiring the rolling landscape. Despite the lack of sun, there are still so many shades of green - one of the hardest colours to get right on a canvas (or at least for me).

That countryside is gorgeous, I don’t blame you for stopping and getting out. I do that all the time when I travel, it takes me forever to get where I’m going haha…but then again life is too short to rush from one appointment to the next!!

Like Ferris Bueller said…life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you might miss it.

Amazing!!! How big is he compared to you?
She was pretty big…I’ve got video of it. What was so cool is that she let me stand there and just watch her and her two calves feed for maybe 2 minutes. Then she looked right at me laid her ears back and snorted. She was telling me to leave now. Haha. A cow moose has been known to charge people if they get too close to her calves.
My heart was in my throat…it was magnificent

I am in deep awe! Could you smell them?

Such a gentle, kind, friendly and optimistic face! You look like an explorer, someone who discovers and researches new species! And... how lovely to be peopleless :)
I posted about that.
That’s funny…when I’m on my adventures I like to think I’m an explorer, moving through a place for the first time. As a kid I used to read all about the native Americans and how they lived in and alongside nature, they existed in harmony with the natural world not against it. I wished I was born during that time.
