I believe you can have that type of connection with an online relationship, but you must have deep trust in each other to benefit. I think there are too many people online who claim to want the sub/dom connection but are using it just for the sexual side. For full satisfaction, there has to be an emotional connection that you don't get from just talking naughty; both people have to feel comfortable and willing to give in to the other.

I think that the type of stimulation will decide how deep you want the connection to be.

I've had an online/phone/sharing relationship with a domme woman that went on for over a year. I find that I need voice chat or phone calls to really feel that connection. We had some very very intense experiences over the phone, which sounds silly but, it made such an impact that even it having ended years ago I would still want that again with another woman today.
