From what I have learned, that's why events happen; experiences we grow from. In order to learn fast from it, you have to say: I am thankful for so and so/such and such this happened, because... Dotdotdot is always going to tell you what part of you is able to grow from the situation. That's already a major gain, because it makes you aware of subconscious patterns that you can change. People make choices 95% of the time on autopilot, meaning with their subconscious. The subconscious executes your patterns. If your patterns work for you, you'll make choices that work for you 95% of the time.
Another major gain in our gratitude towards the "perpetrator/s" is that we don't get stuck in the role of victim. You can change your history by stepping out of the role of victim and looking at yourself lovingly to see what you did right in the situation. By stepping out of the role of victim, you no longer give your power to the perpetrator because they simply no longer exist.
