Random Facts About Yourself

I am doing quite well, thank you. Although I was chewed out by my eye doctor/surgeon for driving home. He threatened to drop me if ever I did it again. I wonder how many eyes he thinks that I have? I only have one more scheduled surgery. :)

When I was 14 I had a large mole surgically removed off my back and had to get it tested for cancer. After a month of anxious waiting the results came back. It was positive. I was taken to the hospital where I had some scans done then had to get a large section of flesh removed from around the initial incision and had a lymph node removed from under my right arm. After another three months of waiting I got a call from the skin cancer research center and they told me that they needed me and my mother to come in immediately. Now at this point it is important to note that this skin cancer specialist was at the time the best in the state. When we arrived we didn't even get a chance to sit down before being called in to the doctors office. They told me that the results had taken so long to come back because they had never before seen a cancerous mole like the one I had removed so they had to send it interstate to the most advanced skin cancer research facility in the country. Unfortunately they were also unfamiliar with this particular type of mole as well so they had a specimen flown over to Germany where it would be examined by the best skin cancer specialists in the world. They had no idea what it was either. They finally got to the results of my tests from the hospital and they explained that even though the mole that was removed had a highly aggressive form of cancer it had not actually entered my body and had stayed completely localized within the mole itself which is what most likely made it so large. So the good news was I'd beaten cancer, the only reason they wanted my mother present when I came in was because they wanted to publish their findings in a medical journal but needed to get patient permission to do so and since I was still a minor they also had to get parental consent. Until those long four months I had never known true fear, but I won.
In conclusion, FUCK CANCER!!!

Random fact: I didn't realize I was gay until the summer between my Jr and Sr years in High School. There was some counseling involved to figure out why I was so fucked up lol. Much happier now.
Well that would have been an awkward summer. Glad to hear it all worked out in the end.

Random fact: I like to read religious and spiritual texts. This started when I was 15 and someone told me that it's impossible to read the bible cover to cover, I just wanted to prove them wrong and spent the next 3-4 months doing so. Since then I've read The Book Of Mormon, The Qabala, The Quran, The Satanic Bible, The Necronomicon, I Ching, The Egyptian Book Of The Dead, The Book Of The Law and Principia Discordia. The next on my list to track down is Enuma Elis.

Marduk, that is impressive as hell. Go you!

I can't really say that I think it's impressive, especially when considering my motivation was less than honorable in that at the time my intention was to point out as many flaws as I could with religion in general. As it turned out I started agreeing with a lot of the common sentiments found in them all. Sure most religions have negative aspects but they all share the same general message of "don't be a cunt".

When indoors, I am usually completely nude. This is a habit that I picked up many years ago from my first wife. Hence the name NakedGrandpa! Most of my close friends have the decency to call before coming over ... so that I can become "decent" by the time that they arrive.
